homeschool link list
As many of you know, I am preparing for my first year homeschooling the boys. I tend to get overwhelmed before major life changes and am like a deer in the headlights forgetting how to put one foot in front of the other. The Lord (ADONAI) has really spoken to me lately about just taking a step. He will direct my paths. He will make them straight. But if I refuse to walk then He's gonna have to hit me with something to get my attention (and I'm not sure I can live through another such event). He cannot lead the paths of the stationary.
So, I am starting at the beginning- what the boys need to know, what information I have, and what I need. More information about what the boys will learn is at our new (and thus under construction) homeschool bloggy home, H.O.M.E. Most of our homeschool information will be contained there, with a few exceptions as I see fit. This is one I wanted to add here as well, because so many of you all are homeschoolers as well, and I believe these are great links worth sharing.
Here is a running list of homeschool resources we have found helpful. This is by no means an exhaustive list, just what I have compiled thus far. Please scroll to the bottom to see other resources I have compiled/written.

I am not homeschooling, but we are thinking about doing it when little guy is older... I subscribe to the "homeschool freebie of the day" and love it.
Here's the link

Here's another great website for kids: MEET ME AT THE CORNER, Virtual FIeld Trips for Kids (www.meetmeatthercorner.org)
Geared to children ages 7-12, MeetMeAtTheCorner.org is a dynamic, interactive site, which encourages individual expression and participation through video submissions from children worldwide. Through these video pod casts, the site creates a community of children who learn the art of self-expression and storytelling through video. The site is free of charge.
MeetMeAtTheCorner.org currently offers more than 50 three-to four-minute episodes. Recent additions include interviews with famous artists and writers, trips to New York City, San Diego, and Colorado, and introductions to unusual hobbies. New trips are added every three weeks.
The latest episode features the Around the World Cookbook by Abby Dodge.
Morgana visits with cookbook author Abby Dodge and learns to make Vietnamese rolls from Abby’s new cookbook, Around The World, 50 International Recipes for Kids.
On a rainy summer day, check it out.
How exciting! God is ever faithful to lead, direct, and provide for you. I'll be going into my 5th year of homeschool. My boys are 15 & 14. I began as each of them started middle school. I could never have done this without Him.
We will be starting our 2nd year of homeschooling next month. Best of luck as you start this first year!
I may have missed it in your list but you might want to check out http://oldfashionededucation.com/index.html as well.. they have great resources and its free!
God bless,
Sallie

Thanks for all the great links. I plan to take a look at them. I am in the midst of planning our school year though I find this year easier. After 4 years we are pretty settled on what works for my oldest. It is my 6 year old that I am having to go down a totally different path.
Congrats on your decision to homeschool. If definately isn't the most popular decision in some crowds. My in-laws weren't too thrilled at first. Since, they have come to us and told us they think our kids are turning our great! It was really encouraging.
Thanks for stopping by my blog :o)
